Cheers to another one...

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to share with you that I'm back being a shoe ambassador for Le Chateau for another year. I actually can't get over the amount of shoe scores I lucked out on throughout the year. It was such a success that there was no hesitation to continue on with this partnership. I feel like you guys as well are just as eager to see what's in store for the future. I have received so many compliments and thanks for showing off all the Le Chateau goods that it makes me not only excited to see what new shoes will be hitting my shelves but to share with you the next pair to potentially hit yours too! Because of the time of year Le Chateau doesn't yet have new stock but they do have one massive sale on almost every pair of shoes that have been around for the winter season. Luckily, I still found a pair, black booties of course, but this pair with some fringe (also another detail you can always expect from me)! Between the fringe and the boot style I continued on with that western feel by rocking this poncho that I love cozying up in. It's such a simple and casual look yet has a dressed-up element to it. I love those chameleonic outfits that can take you anywhere! See you next month with another fab pair of shoes xx

Boxing with Bench at Big Hit Studios

Bench Bequeth Short Sleeved Top, High Hit Studios Toronto, Boxing Toronto
Snapped by Robert Okine
Boxing is at the top of my list of favourite work-out types. Aside from it letting you get out all your aggression by punching the shit out of things, the results you gain from boxing are insane. I've always been on and off with my work-out commitments but boxing was the one major body transformation that I noticed out of any workouts I've tried over the past 20 years I've been active. I started boxing when I was 22 years old with bags and in a ring. I had a trainer push me into it and thankfully so because I took a taking to it very quickly and that was when my body was looking its absolute best. Since boxing doesn't include weights, only your body weight, you don't get bulky just super toned and lean. Everything you do is engaging your core, it challenges your balance, improves your reflexes and trains your memory. This past week Bench invited a bunch of influencers out to Big Hit Studios to get our box on. I was clearly pumped about the activity they chose but also because I've been wanting to check this place out. After moving to Toronto I got back into my box groove at the gym I was a member of but haven't been in about a year now. Big Hit was just opening up as I moved out of the area but now all my girlfriends are going and it's got me wanting to jump back in. So thanks Bench, for getting this plan in motion! I've never worked on these dummies before so that was new. I have bad wrists so I actually found the impact easier on them than the bags. Our trainer was high energy, although scary at times, it was needed to keep up. This workout is not an easy one but it's just so good. I went so hard in the first 10 minutes that I almost threw up and I still had another 50 to go lol. I'm competitive and like to give things my all but in this case I needed to relax a bit and slow down the pace to get through it. I'll definitely be heading back to do a class a week and get that momentum back up. Also, can I just throw it out there that I love all these activities that Bench sends us on. If you are on my other social platforms like Facebook, you may have noticed they've sent us to do things like ping pong, aerial yoga, rock climbing, axe throwing and workouts on surfboards! I can't get enough of their workout gear, leggings especially. For this class I wore their new Baddah X leggings, my absolute favourite style they make, and their Bequeth Short Sleeved Top. As for the sweater, I've been wearing it pretty much on the daily since I got it. I highly recommend testing out their gear if you lead an active lifestyle. Chat soon xx

Free People is coming to Toronto Eaton Centre

Terri Cocoon Pullover, FP Beach, Anthropologie floppy hat
I'M SO EXCITED, Free People is coming even closer to me! I remember when they first came to Canada and opened up their doors in Yorkville and I couldn't wait to step foot inside. Free People was always an online bohemian dream. There isn't a piece they sell that I wouldn't want in my closet and their lookbook is always styled to perfection. Instead of wanting to be a Victoria's Secret Angel I basically would rather be a Free People Goddess! Having a store in the City has been great, although a bit tiny for my liking since I'm such a fan, but I'm definitely experiencing that excitement of a Free People storefront coming all over again. Free People is opening up 5,400 square feet of goodness inside the Toronto Eaton Centre this February. It's not only closer and more accessible to me but it's going to be HUGE! This is a dangerous time my friends, I see my style going full boho as a result of this. Today I thought I would begin taking it there by wearing their Terri Cocoon Pullover, part of their FP Beach line. It's so perfect for lounge days, a throw on for the beach or not to sound like a crazy girl who wanted kids yesterday BUT this is going to be the cutest with a preggo belly.... like when the time comes...if it does. Stay tuned for the store launch date and I can't wait to share with you another look from Free People next month!

We Are Superstars

Well this post pretty much sums up my winter uniform that consists of all black and sneakers when possible. Thankfully we haven't had too much snow so far this winter so I've still been able to rock this athletic trend. For someone who doesn't really work out I definitely own one too many pairs of sneakers I think. These Adidas Superstars are my jam though and when you take a closer look you will notice they are truly one of a kind. A while back I went to a pop-up store opening, Fitzroy Boutique, who partnered with Adidas and local artists to shake things up. We were spoiled with a pair of kicks of our choice with the opportunity to have them painted with whatever our little hearts desired. Obviously I jumped at the idea because why wouldn't you. I told my artist, Madison Van Rijn, that I liked pink and hearts and all that good shit. Later when I came back to grab them I started freaking out at how adorable they turned out. Cartoon-like hearts everywhere, lips puckered with a SWAK and a heart breaking on one foot. It's like she knew me lol!! Fashion should be fun and this was the perfect project to exemplify just that, plus I get super excited when I slip them on. I'm savouring the moments because I'm afraid to have any of her work wear off. I get conflicted if they are wearable shoes or art. I give them their own space on display in my home yet I've worn them about 5 times so I'll go with wearable art!! Let me know, would you get crafty with a pair of your shoes to make them unique to you?

Whiter, Brighter Smiles

Teeth Whitening Gel
At-home teeth whitening
A smile is definitely an accessory I wear daily so keeping it white has always been important. Whitening all started for me when Crest Strips became a thing but I didn't enjoy the process each time I stuck them on my teeth. The whole drooling on myself just wasn't a good look. The next technique I tried was actually going into a dental office where some sort of blocking agent was applied to my gums and then, I'm convinced, actual bleach was painted onto my teeth. It was the most horrific attempt at teeth whitening I've had and will ever experience. It was as if the bleach was being absorbed then catching a nerve resulting in extremely sharp pains that just made me cringe. This is something that I had to deal with for the following 48 hours. Listen, I am a women who has done and tried a lot of things and this took the cake for pain I don't ever want to experience again. Eventually I built up the courage to try out those blue light machine things that are in beauty clinics now and it was doable, pain free and produced OK results but I knew what I really wanted was to have an at-home kit. I already have fairly white teeth so all I really needed was something to maintain them here and there and doing it in the comfort of my own home is most appealing to me. I have been putting off biting the bullet to get impressions made at my dental office and all for good reason I suppose because I was later approached by a company called Smile Brilliant that offered everything I was looking for AND in the most convenient way. So Smile Brilliant is an at home teeth whitening kit that doesn't require a visit to the dentist to even get your moulds. Instead, you get a kit with two kinds of paste that you squish together then stuff into what looks like a mouth guard that you proceed to surround your teeth with. Once it hardens and you do both the upper and lower deck you just toss the guards into the envelop found in your kit and voila 2 weeks later you have moulds perfectly made to fit your teeth. Also in the kit are two two types of syringes: whitening gel and desensitizing gel.  Just squeeze the whitening gel along the front of the impressions, hug them to your teeth and put on a flick. You can keep them on for half an hour to an hour. When you are done do a little rinse and do the same thing with the desensitizing gel and keep on for 5-15 minutes. Using this after whitening reduces the chances of re-staining the teeth, remineralizes small lesions, strengthens tooth enamel and significantly reduces tooth sensitivity which was the most important part for me. I use Sensodyne everyday because my teeth have gotten so sensitive especially with cold that it really ruins the experience of eating a lot even things like fruit. It sucks, but having this gel is a great bonus to this product that you don't get with any other treatment. It's about time I found something that works for me because going through another method after everything I've tried is basically a nightmare at this point. But check out how pearly white these chiclets are and from only using the product for 5 days!
