Chatting investment opportunities...

What takes an all black outfit to the next level? A sharp pair of black booties! I never get tired of sharing my excitement with my Le Chateau shoe finds. Each month it never fails that I score a really great pair of shoes that end up in my daily rotation of footwear. This month I'm featuring a sexy little chelsea boot, a staple that everyone should have. I love how quickly these can polish and dress up a look yet be such a simple, casual style of shoe. Today I've styled them with a cropped dress pant, a perfect alternative and excuse for getting out of wearing heels. Because this look is filled with a lot of class and sass I felt like it was time to introduce you all to my newest daughter, Chanel #2. This bag tested my patience to track down let me tell you but with persistence comes success. I'll give you a minute to take it in. I still stop and stare as I walk past her at times, I get it. Can we all just take a moment though and admit that handbags to women are what stocks are to men? These are investments and to be honest ours are a guaranteed return so that guilt you have when dropping all that cash (that we don't really have) can beat it!

Slick Kicks

Union Jack Boots, Chloe Faye Bag, GAP boyfriend jeans
It’s this time of year when putting effort into what I wear can become a bit more of a challenge when all I can focus on is staying warm. Being out in public with a blanket wrapped around me just hasn’t been a look accepted by society yet. I actually think we are getting close though with blanket scarves and ponchos getting so popular. In the meantime, I have a few staples that I can always count on to make me appear put together with very little planning. I always start the season off with sweater shopping. Sweaters are 80% of what I wear during fall/winter because I trust they will keep me warm. My standard knit stops are H&M, Aritzia, and Club Monaco. Next are staples that stay with me all year round: boyfriend jeans and a pair of sneakers. These boyfriend jeans I grabbed at Gap about three years ago making it the longest relationship I've been in and I don't see them going anywhere, anytime soon. As for getting around town a pair of sneakers are a must! These VANS from Union Jack Boots are the latest kicks to the comfy shoe collection and I’m digging them big time. It’s funny because an all-white sneaker has been on my list for some time and a few that I thought I would like I didn’t really fall in love with when I tried them. These VANS Iso 1.5 Mesh are everything I have been looking for. For starters they are all white, they aren’t bulky, they are extremely light weight and are actually one of the most comfortable pair of sneakers I’ve ever worn. I haven’t worn VANS for quite some time, but the brand has made their way back and I was pleasantly surprised! I’ll be sad to put them away when the snow comes but in the meantime I will wear them whenever possible. There is something I just love about winter whites and soft greys for this time of year. Speaking of grey this is a new jacket I scooped up from Le Chateau recently and I am so happy with it. I’ve styled it for another post coming up soon and will brag about it then, but check out how amazing that collar is!  Stay warm beauties xx

Tassel Booties by Le Chateau

What a difference one month can make! Last month in my Le Chateau posts I was styling open toe strappy sandals with fringe and this time I'm wearing fringe again but on booties. Canada there never seems to be that transitional period for weather. Here, it's either hot or it's cold. Sweater weather barely exists, it's straight to jackets and here on out black booties are my staple. I own far too many pairs of black boots but I swear they are all slightly different. These ones are a soft suede and I love the little tassel on the side. Simple and goes with anything! Footwear I have covered for the change in season but clothes are another story. Less than a month ago I still couldn't bring myself to shop for fall but now the cool are is among us and I'm forced to get at it. What is everyone looking forward to wearing this season? Leave a comment xx

Beauty Muse: Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

The seasons are changing and that means a switch in my beauty routine is needed. Last spring I was introduced to the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. I was excited to try her products for the first time, but not totally eager to try a foundation since I've never been one to wear heavier make-up. Quickly I learned the Magic Foundation went beyond just a cosmetic and also contained skincare elements benefiting the overall look, feel and health of the skin. I've got problematic skin so I'll try just about anything promising results. Not only did I like the overall feel and application of the foundation but I really did see my skin getting better over time. I suffer from a lot of scaring and discolouration on top of my annoying acne so seeing my skin tone even out, dark spots fade and blemishes clear up I was hooked to keep using it. The picture below is after using the Magic Foundation daily for just over two months. When summer hit I did switch back to my tined moisterizer for a lighter feel, but now that fall has arrived I was excited to pick up a new bottle to start using again. If you are in the midst of switching up your beauty routine also then I highly recommend trying this stuff out!
