Earlier this month I headed into Le Chateau to choose a favourite shoe for March except I got so excited when I found the ones that two pairs of the same shoe came home with me but in different colours. When I was younger I would get myself into this situation a lot. It's actually something that I totally got from my mother. It's all your fault mom! As long as it doesn't become a habit and you understand the value of adding variety to your closet than once in a while you can let these things slide. The shoes this month reflect the transition of seasons in a way. Although they offer a lot of coverage the toes are peaking out a tad to ease them into the soon-to-be sandal season. They have a nice chunky heel which is something I've mentioned several times that I'm a big fan of and the colour is nice and refreshing for Spring. They actually were a perfect compliment to my new Frame jeans that I'm big time obsessed with. I've barely taken them off since owning them and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I just can't get enough of rips right now! Which btw my family thinks is a joke. They can't get over the fact that we spend money on "damaged" clothing. Hello, how am I supposed to look grungy and badass in perfectly pressed jeans? It actually makes me laugh to myself thinking about the future when I'm older looking down on my kids and grandchildren and having these same thoughts. I'm so curious.... like what is it going to me like!!! Or are we a more open minded generation with this stuff that nothing will really surprise us by then? Who knows, time will tell.

The sweater dress really goes hand in hand with the thigh highs that I've been raving about recently. It all started with a pin on Pinterest where a girl was sitting against a wall with boots acting as her pants paired with a long, chunky knit. To me it was such a cozy, easy but still fashionable look and I wanted to work it into my style game this season. The boots were a non-issue but finding a sweater dress wasn't as simple as I would have thought. I did stumble upon this Talula by Aritzia dress that won me over with its winter grey however I bet next year we will have a much larger selection to choose from. Dressing during winter can seem like such a daunting task but it doesn't always have to be. This look takes very little to achieve and being so comfortable it's one you should try. The good news is we are getting close to Spring and we won't have to utter the "W" word for a while! Keep your chin up, we've almost made it xx
The blanket scarf = best thing ever! I'm not sure about you but my City had been crawling with blanket scarves this season and for good reason. For starters even in my home I'm always wrapped up in a blanket so now that it's cool to step outside with one around you it's easily become my favourite winter accessory. In fact I was able to wear it over my leather jacket for a good chunk of the season before winter came on with full force. Yes I'm wearing it like a cape where I actually wrap myself up in it but it's pretty versatile with how you can style it just check out my girl Jodi Blk styling hers a bit differently. It is a scarf after all and rather than using it as a layer you can still throw it around your neck for some chunky warmth so switch it each time! Another thing to note is that it's reversible. Flipping the back to front switches up the dominating colour and in this case lightening things up with a softer grey!
Aside from today's post featuring the hottest winter trend I also wanted to point out another little accessory in this post which is my necklace by Vitrine. I'm really into stones, crystals and gems when it comes to my jewelry but this druzy necklace is a bit different in a really pretty way. If you aren't familiar with the term druzy it's referring to tiny quartz crystals that form within or on the surface of stones so it has a very raw yet glittery finish to it. She has all sorts of colours and accessory styles to chose from similar to the one I'm wearing that you can find on the Vitrine Etsy shop.
To finish things off I just want to share that this will be my last post as a 20 something! This Sunday I officially enter my 30's and I'm heading off to New York City to celebrate so I'll see you here next week or follow my trip over on my Instagram. xx
