H&M Collaborates with Anna Dello Russo

Earlier this month H&M announced a new collaboration in the works and I'm super excited about it!  The fashionista and editor-at-large for Vogue Japan, Anna Dello Russo, is creating a unique accessory collection that will hit stores later this year on October 4th.  If you are at all familiar with the fashion of Anna Dello Russo you will know how wild and flamboyant she dresses that never goes unnoticed and just like this accessory line I'm sure we won't be disappointed!

Here's a sneak peek of what we can expect this fall...

When I first heard the news I was super excited because I've loved all the collaborations that H&M has been involved with so far.  H&M already offers amazing products that are new and fresh with an affordable price tag and by adding new designers to the mix it makes our shopping even better.  These special collaborations allow us to have unique pieces and labels like Versace and Jimmy Choo that we never thought would have a place hanging in our closet!  Flare magazine tweeted me a question asking me what my dream collaboration would be.  I thought this was such a great question but I felt put on the spot, like how do you choose just one?  I took the entire day to think about it before I came to my conclusion.  I could have said something crazy like Chanel or Alexander McQueen but I didn't.  Instead I thought about things like what designers do I love.  Of those designers, who creates more ready-to-wear pieces that the average women wears.  And then I also thought about the overall H&M brand and that is how I narrowed it down and responded by saying my dream collaboration with H&M would be DVF.  I could totally see her creating an amazing summer dress line that would absolutely work with H&M.  So what do you think?  Who would you love to see do a collaboration with H&M in the future?

Change Room Diaries

Today's images were captured in the change rooms of Urban Outfitters

Top (right) : Wood Wood Reform Tank
Here's a great maxi skirt for summer.  Because of the lace-up waistband I think it looks fab with this seasons trending bra top or a great crop top.  Either style shows off the finished detail of the skirt.  How do you like to wear your maxi for the summer?

One thing you can't get through a picture is texture so trust me when I tell you that these were the softest shorts I've ever touched.  I guess I liked them because although they were flowers they weren't too over powering and I liked the bright pink detail on the neutral shorts.  From a distance it almost just looks like a print rather than flowers.  The tank is a lot of fun.  It's such a great, simple and casual tank that has playful colours in the embroidery and the best part was the back.  It's almost completely left open yet I still felt secure wearing it.

I loved the print and colours in this maxi skirt.  Very bohemian and perfect to throw on over your bikini for your trip to the beach!  For one look I paired it with a bright coral tube top to make it look a tad effortlessly sexy.  And for the other look I paired it with a dark grey top with a lot of fringe to give a more edgy feel.  This is a great example to show you how to take this skirt from day to night.

I doubt you would resist trying on this hot pink number if you walked by it too!  It's always great to have one dress in your closet that has that major 'pop' factor.  This dress is very simple in design but with an eye catching colour and some wicked fun accessories to take this dress to a whole other level you have one smoke show of an outfit.
WARNING: Be prepared to stop traffic wearing this!

So my lovelies, what is it that you think came home with me from this weeks change room diaries?  Find out on my Facebook page tomorrow!!!

Gotta Have It

TORY BURCH DESIGNED FEED BAG

For those of you who don't know, the FEED foundation is in support of helping children have nutritious meals at school that is no doubt a serious matter and very important to a child's development.  Well as of recent there has been a fashionable way to contribute to this amazing campaign.  On May 10th, Holt Renfrew released an exclusive limited edition Tory Burch Feed bag in their stores in hopes of reaching a goal of raising $100,000 for both the FEED and Tory Burch Foundation.  With a price tag of only $50 and a summer-cool look created by one of my favourite designers I'm sure this goal with will be more than attainable.  And like I said before it's not only a trendy way to donate but it's also a fashionable way to create awareness to others and with that being said I'll take one in pink!

Check out the video below on the collaboration between the beautiful Tory Burch and Lauren Bush (co-founder of FEED) for Holt Renfrew

Change Room Diaries

Today's images were captured in the change rooms of French Connection

I love the trend of colour blocking!  This blouse I liked because it used a pastel pink and a bright blue plus a dark grey.  Usually I colour block with all just pastels or just all brights so this top made me re-think my colour blocking options!

Our skinny jeans and leggings have definitely taken over our day to day wardrobe.  So much that it's hard now to adjust to our pants being anything but.  However trends begin to change and we must accept them and no I'm not saying you have to retire your favourite skinnies but be open to incorporating new styles into your look.  Take these wide leg trousers - they are INCREDIBLE and polar opposite of leggings.  They are so light and airy, perfect for warmer months!

I actually love this outfit a lot.  These soft lavender silk shorts would be great for any event in the summer dressed up a tad.  Here I've paired it with this semi sheer white blouse to keep the look delicate.  The lines  create an interesting appeal over just another white blouse hanging in your closet.

I kinda really like playing around with metallics.  The pinky/purple with a silver sheen to it is actually quite subtle and gives you a lot of options to explore for your overall look.  Here I went all out and paired it with this silver crop top.  It keeps it more playful but the skirt can be dressed up on the fancier side where the top can be worn in a more edgy look.  Whatever the way these pieces will make you shine!

How adorable is this dress?  First thing to point out is that yellow and cream look AMAZING together.  It  really softens the look from being so vibrant if it were all yellow.  Again you can't go wrong with some good stripes for the summer and I love the pleats in the skirt.  Sheer long skirts with a mini hidden underneath is a popular look and I like that it's done in a dress here.  This would be a great option if you have any summer weddings to attend!

Oh how I adore this dress!  The colour red and I are recent friends so I was even more excited about this dress.  The cut of the dress is so flattering and the slit up the side creates more flowy movement.  I love the print with the red band along the bottom to break up the dress a bit.  #perfectsummerdress

Bijules Nail Ring

photo source : cupcakes and cashmere

Having our nails stand out is a huge trend right now.  With an overwhelming amount of nail polish colours and hues to stickers and markers to get creative with detail, decorating our nails has never been more fun.  But now there is a new buzz going around where people are 'accessorizing' the nail.    Yes, there are now nail rings and I have to have this one by Bijules.  Find it here!!

Met Ball

For Vogue to be hosting an event you know it has to be the biggest night in fashion and that is exactly what the Met Ball brings!  Each year there is a theme as it celebrates the opening of a new fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute in the Metropolitan Museum.  This year featured Schiaparelli and Prada with the theme titled 'Impossible Conversations'.

Anna Wintour wearing Prada

Among the 800 people who were on this events guest list I still somehow narrowed down my 10 favourite looks of the evening.  Between models, actresses, singers and designers themselves, everyone looked their finest for the red carpet last night.

Rooney Mara wearing Givenchy
I adore Rooney.  She has a history of some really great red carpet looks and this one can go ahead and be added to the list!  She's covered up yet the sheer lace makes it so sexy and the leather belt gives it edge.  Love!
photo source : vogue.com

 Jessica Alba wearing Michael Kors
Can't say I'm a fan but I really love her overall look.  The gold crinkled grecian style gown really looks great and the wavy hair and dark red lip pull everything together perfect.
photo source : vogue.co.uk

Gisele Bundchen wearing Givenchy
I still don't quite know if Gisele made my list because of how great this dress is or if I'm just overwhelmed because - well it's Gisele!  This girl has sex appeal and I'm all about it.
photo source : glamour.com

Camilla Bell wearing Ralph Lauren
I'll admit I don't even know who this actress really is but this dress is HOT!  This form fitting, sheer strapping gown fits this body like a glove!
photo source : whatshaute.com

Rihanna wearing Tom Ford
Rihanna arriving fashionably late (apparently not impressing Anna Wintour in the slightest) wearing an alligator that I have to admit I thought was Givenchy at first sight.  Regardless of designer and tardiness this simple dress is fierce!
photo source : thecomplexmedia.com

Jourdan Dunn & Cara Delevingne wearing Burberry
These two Burberry models are so incredibly stunning they just had to make it on my list, especially since they didn't get enough credit from anyone else!
photo source : vogue.fr

Rachel Zoe wearing Rachel Zoe
Well duh!  Of course she's wearing Rachel Zoe.  I love this stylist / designer.  And you know what else I love?  Fringe and chunky necklaces so yes I'm liking the look!
photo source : usmagazine.com

Gwyneth Paltrow wearing Prada
She seriously gets hotter with age it's not even fair.  Yes she makes my best dressed list because she always does!  It doesn't hurt to have the body and more specifically her legs either.  I doubt there's anything that looks terrible on her
photo source : style frizz.com

Sarah Jessica Parker wearing Valentino
Yes I agree this dress looks old lady like with it's faded floral print but hello - it's Sarah Jessica Parker wearing it and I think she looks beautiful!  No one could make it look as fabulous as Carrie!

Change Room Diaries

Today's images were captured in the change rooms of The Bay

Dress :: Ella Moss
Summer is approaching and I can't wait to live in dresses!  This one in particular caught my eye from a mile away for many reasons.  I love a good maxi dress, the geometric print is so much fun and I'm obsessed with the colour combination of what looks like subtle faded neon's.  This dress is like wearing PJ's it's so comfortable, you'll want to wear it everywhere.  I for one see this as the perfect go-to dress for a day headed to the beach.

Vest :: Rachel Rachel Roy
Skirt :: BCBGeneration
I have been on a hunt for a couple great maxi skirts to get me through the summer and this one was a hit!  The black and white horizontal pinstripe turns this skirt into a perfect grey that can worn with a whole lot of everything.  The maxi skirt is so effortless yet chic and for a shorty like myself I certainly don't mind the illusion of height it gives me!  I paired this skirt with a fun vest that's a unique twist to the trending bra top right now.  The best part about it was the thick elastic crossover back.

Dress :: BCBG
Good thing you are already aware of my maxi obsession for summer!!  Another trend that I always love for summer are stripes and how great are the different variations used in this dress?  Pairing pink with orange is a combination that I'm a huge fan of and perfect for the summertime.

Camis :: BCBGeneration
Skirt :: BCBGeneration
Shorts :: Topshop
I think these camis are great to have for the warm months ahead.  The zigzag pattern is just another print to add to the collection the season and it comes in two colour combinations to choose from.  The sunburst pleating creates more dimension giving you something a little different in your wardrobe.  The great thing about these tops are their versatility.  I've shown these tops in a more casual wear but throw these on for work under a great blazer and you have something with a punch of fun to change things up in the office!

Shorts :: Topshop
I love these shorts!  Not only do they meet my seasons criteria of bright neon's but how fun is this embroidered print?!  These are casual shorts that I could see myself reaching for pretty much any dress down kinda day!

May Inspiration Board

What is the trend of the month? BOLD PRINTS!!
I can't help but be mesmerized by all the bold prints that keep popping up.  The best part is there are so many different patterns to choose from you just have to pick your favourite colour combinations.  Prints more commonly have already been in our closets in the form of blouses and maybe dresses or skirts but now they are trending in pants and shorts.  If you're shy since prints can make such an impact start by incorporating a purse with a loud print with your outfit.  However if you are more adventurous guess what? It looks beyond amazing by pairing prints both up top and down below...as long as it's done right.  Stay tuned later this month as I give you all the tips you need on how to wear fun prints this season!
