Change room diaries... mini holiday edition

Love love love this dress!  The deep green with a bit of sheen is so stunning and striking.  I can immediately see it being styled with a chunky statement necklace (like this one) with a skinny black belt worn around the waistline.  And when you're not being admired from the front you will be from the back as you turn to walk away exposing the open back.  This is such a perfect and affordable New Year's Eve look!

If you are looking to spend your final evening of 2012 sparkling then full on sequin is the right option for you.  As mentioned in an earlier post French Connection is always a place you can count on whether it be sequin dresses or sequin separates.  The first thing that caught my eye with this dress were the colours.  The mixture of ivory, gold and bronze create such a fancy and sexy overall style for New Years.  The second element that caught my eye was the racer front.  I love this look so much but I know it's not for everyone.  Having a small upper body does make it easier to wear with confidence but I know for others we can feel a bit insecure by thinking it makes our shoulders look quite wide.  Just remember when peplum came back in style a lot of us thought "really- accentuate the hip area?" haha.  At least I know that's a thought that crossed my mind however even though I may be timid with trends I also love giving them a shot.  I would get to bored with myself if my look always stayed the same...

December was a busy month for me and I had intended on having a lot of idea's for holiday wear in this post but being in the malls this past month had me wanting to grab my gifts and exit as soon as possible.  That being said while I was in Florida visiting my parents we took a day trip to downtown disney and my mom and I love to shop so while dad was waiting outside we made our mother/daughter bonding pit stops!  In the one boutique, Apricot Lane, I came across this beautifully draped blazer with sequin arms.  This is a great option for those of you who like to play it safe yet have that additional piece that stands out.  This way you won't be committed to the sparkle all night if you don't want to!

Follow along with Trend Struck.  Each place is a different treat...
