Embellished Gunmetal

I love a dress with versatility.  This silk loose fitted dress has a great cut with fun metal embellishments to spice things up from being just a plain grey dress.  The best part is that this dress can be worn to a dressier occasion with the addition of a great belt, heels and some glam accessories.  However this dress can also be easily dressed down for an edgy look with the addition of black tights and knee high boots like I did below.  I love to pair this dress up with one of my favourite black blazers because of their opposite cuts that compliment each other so well.  The bottom of this dress has a higher rise on both sides leaving the front and back longer whereas this collarless blazer has a short back with longer panels on the sides

Be Dazzled

Here I'm wearing sequins in a more casual look.  This loose fitted zip up jacket that is covered in purple-ish/silver sequins is warn over an all black outfit so it's not being taken over the top and the focus is kept where it should be.  I added a grey beaded necklace to add some funk and wore ballet flats with studded gems to keep it casual and cute

Holiday Sequins

Christmas may be over but this holiday spirit is still in the air until the end of the month.  That being said outfits with sparkle will continue to be worn this me at least.  I love this skirt, actually it's an oldie, but I adore the pockets, the colour and how it hangs as it wraps across the front.  I've paired this dressy skirt up with a wide sheer top that has black silk detailing edged with sequins making it an easy decision to complete this look with my black silk pumps with a brown wooden heel

The Night Before Christmas

It's the night before Christmas and I'm spending it with my mom and dad in Florida.  I may have been raised in Northern Ontario, Canada where we always had snow on the ground to wake up to for that classic white Christmas but I can't say I'm bothered by spending it in sunny Florida for the last three years, in fact I much prefer it (I was convinced at a very young age I was never meant to live where it was cold).  It saddens me to see the spirit of holidays like Christmas and Halloween lacking when it comes to decorated houses but to my surprise people still love to do this even where it's warm.  Actually those that will go over the top will even lay down fake snow on their bright green grass!  Call it tacky but I can't help but smile and feel cheery.  I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope each of you made it on Santa's GOOD list this year.

Picking a New Years Eve Look

We are about a week away from the celebration of a New Year and for those of you who are last minute with plans on the Eve of this event I can't help but if it's with what you're going to wear I have a few looks to help you out.  Depending on how you will be spending this evening will determine how dressy, sexy, flirty or casual your look should be.  From party dresses to gowns or skirts and blazers or maybe just a little black dress decide what statement you want to make at this years end

First Day of Winter

I may be enjoying the sun in Florida at the moment but I haven't forgotten about the winter season officially in affect back home in Canada.  Having to bundle up for the dreadful colder weather I have narrowed down my favourite go to spots for the stuff that help me get through it.  When it comes to jackets I'm obsessed with anything Mackage but when it's really REALLY cold you can't go wrong with a Canada Goose jacket even though last winter I wanted to be different so went with a Moose Knuckle (or maybe it was because it had pom-poms on it).  Boots soon become an everyday staple to my outfit when it's cold out and I'm crazy about pretty much every pair at Rudsak because of their styles and comfort.  Since our weather is sometimes unpredictable making sure you have a super warm pair of boots is crucial but also having a pair of rain boots on hand for those off days of mild weather with rain are also a good idea.  Then we get into the accessories that cover up those other bare areas.  When it comes to scarves for some reason I always find one I love each season at Armani Exchange and for scarves that are a little more plain H&M is always a sure bet.  Gloves are important because between my fingers and my nose they are the first to get cold and seem to stay cold.  Again having warm gloves are necessary for the winter months but for those nights you are a bit more dressed up and you can survive sporting some leather gloves you must go to Club Monaco.  Each season they come out with great sexy gloves whether you are looking for them to be short or a pair that continue up your elbows.  The final accessory are hats.  I LOVE HATS!  Always have always will but I will have to apologize that I don't have a specific spot that is my favourite when it comes to this.  Instead they pop up everywhere and when they look good on I'm sold.  When I'm shopping and see a hat in a store I can never refrain from trying it on because you just don't know!  So go on and experiment and I'm sure you will come across one you love.
