Time For Change: New 'Do

Well the cold weather is approaching and life tends to get a bit boring so I decided to spice things up and get a new hairdo.  When I was younger I used to be a lot more adventurous with trying out new styles and colours.  When I was REALLY young a lot of those styles weren't by choice (thanks mom).  I decided a couple years back that I wanted to grow out my hair to see if it actually would grow past my shoulders so I did little processing and very few visits to the hair dresser for trims.  Luckily I didn't get much of a scolding from my hairdressers, instead my hair was surprisingly quite healthy.  I may not have been going in for my maintenance trims as much as I should have but I also was rarely using product or heat on my hair that I believe saved its health in the meantime.  Anyway I've made it to the length I was hoping to get to then literally everything happened over the course of about 4 days.  I unexpectedly decided I was really bored with my hair one day and began itching for a change ASAP.  The next night I was out at a club and did a double take on a girl with blonde hair and great bangs, not boring bangs if you know what I mean.  That's what I was looking for - something with an edge and different from what I have done in the past.  The following day I was flipping through my magazine and came across an ad with a very similar, if not identical, colour and style to what I had seen the night previous!  The next day I called to see if I could go in for an appointment that same day (clearly one for instant gratification and little patience) but she was booked up, obviously!  So I had to wait three whole days to wait until I got in to make this change but that also meant I had three whole days to reconsider and chicken out on my choice.  I flipped through about 20 more magazines and found nothing that got me excited.  And might I add that it doesn't help when those around you aren't as sure about your choice as you are either because change is hard to accept or even visualize to people who aren't experts themselves and see your same look for extended lengths of time that they have grown accustomed to.  I show up for my appointment nervous to pull out the picture to see my hairdressers reaction but to my relief she loves the change and can totally see me pulling it off.  Phew!  Instantly I feel good about my decision and both the colour and the cut exceeded my expectations.  What a great feeling walking out of the salon with a new look and a new level of confidence while you rock it!  I would like to thank my stylist Sara Anne Papaleo from West Salon and Spa for bringing my vision to life (and continuing to reassure me throughout the whole appointment).  YOU'RE AMAZING AT WHAT YOU DO! xo

MY INSPIRATION

 BIG Thanks
